Ed I don’t mean it’s Uniteds doing but they probably phoned up the powers that be at eufa and made some sort of demands, it’s an error but they could leave it as it was, look at all the errors in yesterday’s F1 race and nothing will change. I was looking forward to watching that game and in particular Messi and Ronaldo play against each other again. Doubt I want to watch AM play, they were good to watch once aupon a time.

Leave it as it was?! It caused outrage. The fact you even think Utd have enough power to say “Yeah that’s fine Uefa. Don’t re-do the draw lads” is astounding. No professional body at that level should be making such a monumental error.

Villarreal were drawn against Manchester City, but it appears United’s ball was not put back into the relevant pot, enabling them to be drawn against Atletico Madrid, who were the next team picked out to play Bayern Munich. So maybe there’s a 3rd draw tomorrow. What a joke.

Don’t quite understand all.this but I do know a redraw has probably affected teams who originally had what is seen as a good draw for them, so it is largely unfair but on the other hand its big competition so you got to beat what’s in front of you irrespective who it may be, I read Chelsea stands to lose 9 million because of the redraw and I don’t understand that either as they drew the same team.

I don’t know why the whole draw needed to be redone as they could gave continued from where they went wrong in the first one but was right to redraw for integrity of the competition.

Lads, I just dont agree with any of you, here or previously when it comes to UEFA draw fixing.
It’s always a thing when it’s convenient. The odds of so and so meeting are actually really small, so just stop.
Utd calling people up? dont be ridiculous. UEFA fixing draws because there were mistakes made, the same.. utter nonsense.
There is a draw to conspiratorial that we all must fight. Im not talking about football, I mean with all information. They tend to be compelling in one way or another, bypassing your critical thinking capabilities via one way or the other. You can’t protect yourself entirely but you can put in a concerted effort into being aware of the mechanics involved.
this forum is starting to get silly. Lets all take a look at ourselves and sort it out.

I don’t think anyone genuinely believes there was anything dodgy going on Mak. It was just sheer incompetence by Uefa. There’s no way the draw could have been allowed to stand, regardless of who drew who.

Let me retract on the article it seems was published in between the 2 draws although it was not that clear and infers that Chelsea would have lost 14m pounds had they drawn one of the other 3 teams, Bayern, Ajax or PSG as on current form they would be expected to be knocked out to those teams but are expeted to advance against Lille who are langushing in the middle of the French league this season. So which ever way one looks at it there are consequences for some teams for example PSG have drawn Real now and I think Bayern also have a tougher fixture, not sure as some tabloids still have the first draw listed as the fixtures. In fact I can’t seem to find the revised corrected draw anywhere.

Of course there are consequences Blaze. Just as there would have been had an unfair draw been allowed to stand. It’s a completely moot point though. You simply can’t allow a draw to stand which did not follow protocol. It doesn’t matter one bit who benefitted or not.
As for the article you’re talking about, it sounds a bit far fetched if it’s talking about the fact Chelsea would have been expected to be knocked out against Bayern, Ajax or PSG and basing potential revenue loss on that supposed reality. Chelsea are the holders. They shouldn’t be fearing anyone.

I get if now what the article said was that Chelsea could have lost £9.1 m which is the prize money awarded to the Qtr Finalists by UEFA had Chelsea drawn a more difficult opponent in the redraw and been eliminated.
We still got Lille though but they still have to be beaten.🤞
