Nine, just a response to your thoughts at Chelsea – what about someone like Deschamps? – There’s a connection to Chelsea there having already played for you and his general record at both club and international is pretty impressive. He may not play the game the way some like, but he’s still proved adaptable and effective as a manager. You sense in light of FFP and the possible transfer ban Chelsea need to change their strategy somewhat and install someone who can stay there a bit longer than others and build and develop a side. And particularly given the list of top managers available grows ever thinner.

Mav, I’m sure his name will start to get linked to some of the bigger clubs, particularly if he keeps progressing in the CL. However I don’t know enough about Ajax under Ten Hag to know if this is just a great run or those something more deeper going on there that’s all down to him. Villas Boas was similarly held in very high regard at one point. Deschamps has the proven track record at multiple clubs and on the international stage.

This is absolutely true. Not having a go at our Nil but I am echoing it just so he might remember the next time there is any kind of reaction (even if muted) to stay away from the anti-LFC conspiracy stuff. .

Mikus,I certainly wouldn’t discount Deschamp for all the reasons you state if Sarri goes.
Whether the transfer ban is suspended or not will imo be a key factor on who Chelsea go for assuming Sarri were to go as it will impact on who is prepared prepared to come under that circumstance.
You’re right though Chelsea do need a bit of managerial continuity.

Mak, I appreciate your thoughts mate. Obviously goes without reason to feel valued here and as a family member (so to speak). It is appreciated.
I’m not going to make excuses as such and would have reacted the same as this inadvertently is a back-handed compliment to one of the Best Teams in Europe and highly regarded from my point of view.
The key point here though is that they are not the Team I support though and I don’t want them clean-sweeping every available Silverware.
Without going into this too deep and opening up unnecessary needless squabbles, I had in my mind FA Cup Semi, and Swansea/cocktailed with wanting Tottenham to show that actually, there is a team out that that can stand up to one of the Great Teams on current circuit.
This lunchtime showed, although in many passages of play, Spurs could have levelled and maybe gone on to excel, Man City got the early breakthrough with class.
I would never make any excuse and rightly so. That is me – no intent to just wind up or revel, but express emotion.
