As for you cheating comment above, I would suggest it has always been around, certainly for a few decades at least, but now you have 9,000 camera’s at every match so nobody can really get away with it anymore (yet they still do!).

Chucky; let’s word it like this then shall we. Puncheon and Kane should both be ashamed. Both deliberately targeted DeBryune and the refs decided to let them off with their tackles? Add to above the stamp on the leg on Sterling by Alli. And a similar awful stamp on Gundogans back of knee by Jacob Murphy vs Newcastle. All straight red card offences i am sure you agree. And all strangely condoned by the Referees who let every shitehouse tackler off. Is that how we want football to be played in this country? But hey DeBryune is now out for a prolonged period of time so all is good in the land of football. It is bull shit.

Big J… not defending the actions of any Spud player one little bit… but it amazes me how short memory you have… a remember a certain Kun doing his best to removes Side Show Bob’s knee-caps last season… and certainly remember a fair few lads having a nibble at Kane and Ali’s knee-caps over the last few years… those tackles, as you say, should certainly be punished, not arguments from me… but let’s not pretend KDB is the first “victim” in the history of the game, nor pretend no City player has ever dished it out either!

No I agree with your statement. I just don’t agree with the way Refs have been condoning the tackles on our players the past few weeks. It says to me you can target and kick away at Citys best players, dont worry we wont red card you!

Or to put it another way, was it 91st minute of a 0-0 game, with the home side having just missed a match-winning penalty and the away side breaking for possible a match-winning goal, with a striker (a type of player not exactly renowned for tackling skills) making a desperate tackle under a red-mist haze…. or a secret memo stating you can kick City players? 🙂

I think Kane’s tackle was just poorly timed he’s not that sort player Alli on the other hand is and Refs need to take these things into account. Refs have to start protecting the ball playing players teams shouldn’t be allowed to try and kick them out of the game.

Goldie… but where do you draw the line? That’s the old age problem. You can’t make it non-contact, and no amount of rules is going to change the “red-mist” element of the game. I do strongly believe very, very few players go out to deliberately injure other players, but it is a highly charged contact sport. It’s going to happen whether we like it or not.
And yes, Ali can be a right dick at times…

You can’t condone fouling opponents, but you have to accept robust challenges, some of which will be mistimed, the tricky players also make sure they get fouled, and are then prone to rolling round on the floor as if shot.
As Chuckles says, adrenaline also plays a big factor, as the de Bruyne shows, you miss a penalty, the last thing you want is to concede from the break.
Tactical fouls is another hot topic, taking one for the team as they say, for me any cynical foul should be dealt with more severely….Pagan
