Chelsea FC: January 2026 transfer window

I think I will start this thread. The transfer window will be soon open. Should we buy a player or two to reinforce considering our position at the moment in the league?
If we continue like this, we will surely miss the Champions League spot.

My opinion: I hope we will bring one new player, who is experienced, to add experience and confidence in the team. With the players we have, somehow I still think we are lack of depth. Our second team is way below our starting 11. And two of our acquisitions last summer: Hato and Gittens, IMO they won’t make it. They rarely start or even play. Also it’s harsh due to his injuries, but Delap so far hasn’t shown anything great. 0 league goal to sum it up. One player that I could think would improve our attack is Julian Alvarez of Atletico Madrid

The people in charge have made a real mess of the whole setup, how can you possibly have the sd’s and medical department telling the manager who to select and for how long he can play in the game. No wonder we cannot get an elite manager, none will abide by those directions. We going to have to settle for mediocrity in every area of the entire club.

Pat Nevin summed it up nicely, he said the owners want a puppet who will be controlled from above

It seems to me that Chelsea called Anselmino back. It must be related to our poursuit of Rennes young CB, that’s probably unsuccessful. IMO this is a poor choice with Fofana, Chalobah & Badiashile still in the team. Anselmino could have developed at Dortmund. I don’t think he is ready to be thrown straight away in Premier League
