Sorry ginger, we’re just a bit behind with Whats going on this season… poor threeps has had to spoon feed some of us about the football thats going on.
Do you think it would be wise to add calvin ramsay to the squad for aston villa? I thought he played well against crystal palace but dont wanna put pressure on the squad and bradley is better! I only found out yesterday that bajcetic has been with us all this time recovering from his surgery, i could have sworn he was sent out on loan! Im hoping he can get up to speed and help the squad out in some shape or form!
Buendias deffo out so thats sancho in but the guy always does well against us! Dreading morgan rogers and mcginn against our midfield theyre the best players, keep them quiet and we have a chance!

Ginger, correct, our attackers have been very wasteful, when presented with very good chances by Wirtz, so he’s been unlucky in that sense, hopefully not tonight.

I have some advice for Richard Hughes, why not sell Mac Allister for an exorbitant fee to Real Madrid to compensate for the ludicrous mistake of signing Isak. And add Konaté to that list also, though I think he’s out of contract at the end of this season, so no transfer fee.
Mac Allister has declined visibly right in front of our eyes, perhaps it’s because he’s won World Cup and PL, so has become complacent. Or it’s because he recently become a father, replacing his former dour looking girlfriend (when he won the World Cup), with her much better-looking best friend, who’s a model. So he’s quite cocky and ruthless.
And use the funds generated much more wisely this time, to get us back to the top, and stay there.

Songman, we get it, you dont like isak and we could have done better with the funds! But we lost 2 strikers and replaced them with 2 strikers.. one up and coming(Ekitike whose coming into a new league) and one with proven premier league pedigree(isak).. plus as weve seen recently there is the chance of injuries, so good to have backup.
Asiansensation, on Wirtz, you are right, he has created several good chances, but our attackers have been wasteful, so let’s hope that changes quickly. That’s why I’ve always been behind him, he just needs some time to get used to this league, I can see his quality right away. Btw, other £110m midfield signings like Fernandez and Caicedo, also took quite some time to settle at their club.
But on Isak, I totally disagree with you. Simply because if you make a marquee signing in one position (e.g. Alisson, Van Dijk, Mané, Salah), you don’t then go and sign another even more expensive player to compete with them.
What I would have done is sign a winger (such as Barcola who was rumoured) to compete with Gakpo or Salah. And in attack we have great backup in Chiesa, and if he’s injured, then Gakpo is an excellent replacement also, as he’s played there several times before. With the signed winger, or Ngumoha, taking Gakpo’s place.
But the other problem with Isak is his attitude, his poor injury record and his exorbitant, unjustified price, over double the going rate of similar strikers. And that’s why we NEVER should have signed him in the first place – A definite blunder by Richard Hughes, after several successful signings over many years.

The price Liverpool payed Newcastle for Isak is nothing to do with Isak.
That’s between the clubs.
But it’s a stupid price. In business you don’t just pay any price you’re quoted, and the same goes in football, that’s why you see several clubs pulling out of highly overpriced deals. Sometimes the best deal is the one you don’t make.
Similar strikers, with similar stats as Isak were going for £60m to £80m thus summer, so what is so special about Isak to demand a £44m premium? In my opinion, absolutely nothing. And even worse he’s highly injury-prone, with a very bad attitude, unlike Ekitike, for example.
The only striker who can command such a premium is Haaland, and his phenomenal stats back him up, or even Harry Kane at his peak.

Salah needs to do more work tracking back today.
We can’t leave Bradley on his own to be overloaded by Digne and McGinn.Last year Szobo did the hard running for Salah when playing the 10, covering back loads.
It’s part of the reason I believe how we controlled games more also.
Szobo likely to be deeper today and Wirtz more attack minded so Salah needs to help out more._____________________________
