It’s because our castoff’s are invariably on far more money than their talent deserves, that also goes hand in hand with paying way over the odds for them in transfer fees as well.
There’s no other club out there who are big enough mugs to buy these wankers then pay Rashford 325k per week, or Mason Mount over 200k, so we just end up letting their contracts run down and lose them for fuck all.

Coventry inquired about Mount knowing his wages but the club didn’t entertain their inquiry. Yes we do have mediocre players on astronomical wages but whenever there’s been a chance to get rid of them the club doesn’t do that.
Zirkzee was supposed to leave in January but they kept him and he didn’t offer anything worthwhile until now. The same can be said about crocks like Martinez, Mazraoui etc there are takers for them but the club prefers to keep them.
Also i am sure they can get Lewis skelly for less than the quoted 45M because Arsenal needs him gone but they won’t engage or rather drag it out.

@Jm1502 – whislt I don’t think we’re the biggest pull these days, surely players see United as a bigger pull than Spurs, especially since they finished 17th two years on the trot (and we have CL football). Van De Ven would move to OT in a heartbeat if given the chance I reckon.

The only way Coventry could have afforded to take Mount on loan would be if we still paid a substantial part of his wages, and they picked up the rest. Either way, there’s no way he would agree to go to a club that will be in a relegation dogfight all season, so it was always a non starter even if there was any truth in it.
