Was just listening to someone on TalkSPORT a journalist from the Sun, whose following them preseason. (Don’t read the papers so don’t know much about him, Sam luckhurst it sounded like). Anyway he said something which was funny at first but depressing when you analyse it deeper.

oh, that’s a shame, Alfie mate. I had gotten my hopes up. a lot of pundits rate Dalot. I have never understood that. I think LB is more important because shaw will never stay fit. wouldn’t be surprised if he didn’t hit 25 league games, never mind the cups.

Alfie mate, regarding us signing top English talent: we signed Luke shaw in 14/15 and Owen hargreaves in 07/08 who you could argue fit that description. sadly they didn’t do it for us given their injury histories. so the last one who I can think of is Wayne Rooney all the way back in 04/05. I know JM might put the oil tanker in their but that’s his blind spot!
