Mason Mount going to Coventry is a complete non starter because he’s still got 2 years left on 200k per week. I very much doubt whether Coventry could even afford to pay him 50k per week.

Dalot & MazraouiWho the fuck knows it De Ligt will ever play again and Amass is totally untested at this level. So even though Mazraoui can play left back and Dorgu at a push you’d think we need at last 1 defensive signing this window. I’d happily take that aggressive lad from Forest who can play in both fullback roles.

Bruno & MountSaw an article on the BBC talking up Mount as an option in CM but i’m not convinced. Having said that surely we need to fit a £60m player into the team somewhere?? I’d assume Collyer (similar to Amass) will be shipped out on loan and a big upgrade brought in.

Sesko & ZirkzeeDoes Zirkzee deserve another chance this season? I’m not convinced but in terms of numbers it stacks up.
We also have the Fletcher twins, Shea Lacey and a couple others who’ll get minutes for cup games maybe.
So basically its 2 more signings to upgrade Amass and Collyer and then we’ll see what happens with Zirkzee as to whether we go for a more experienced back up for Sesko._____________________________

If Carrick does indeed get gone by Xmas i will feel zero empathy for him; at the end of last season i noticed him playing Mount deeper next to Mainoo and he continued with pairing him with Santos during pre-season instead of giving that chance to some of the kids to show what they can do..
He has chosen to be stubborn on the Rashford, Mount and Mainoo hill … then may he get slaughtered on it and choosing to not be vocal about the lack of defensive reinforcements is tantamount to getting sacked then so be it.

What appears obvious to me about Big Jim is that it is not his desire to put United back on top. It is simply about money in, money out for him. He saw it, because of the revenue stream, as a good financial investment. So all his actions will be in service of servicing his investment. It will simply be about milking the cow til it’s dry, just like the Glazers have done. All his talk of being a local lad and ‘best in class’ are nonsense. Worst run club in world football.

Zirkzee is not physically weak – he can hold off defenders and shield the ball, etc. what he is is lazy: barely breaks stride to get involved in counter attacks, etc. And being lazy is simply not acceptable at this level.

Bob – I think that’s complete nonsense what you said about Jim Ratcliffe. He’s not taking money out of the club, like the Glazers have, quite the opposite in fact. He’s put over £1.25bn in for a minority share in the club. But also put hundreds of millions of his own money in to reinvest in the infrastructure. If you even do a small bit of research you’ll also see he doesn’t view his investment in United as a money maker –
“Ratcliffe stated he is not involved for financial return, noting his personal wealth comes from his primary industrial ventures rather than extracting funds from Old Trafford”.

Everyone knows we are a soft touch when it comes to transfers. Look at how the Atony transfer was concluded. A loan with an option to buy for Zirkzee would highlight that we can easily be persuaded to strengthen other teams for limited benefit to us. We just need to start telling other teams to do one.
