Agree Killy, Tonali is not a DM but then neither, as Blacky points out, is Wharton. We need two DMs in my opinion and they need to be in the Baleba / Anderson mould but not necessarily either of them, I have reservations about both. I’d be tempted to go for one that’s established and maybe take a chance on someone cheaper and a bit raw, one of these up and coming French lads. Can’t see us signing Tonali tbh, he’s more of a Bruno than a DM.

Watched Middlesbrough game yesterday and I didn’t think much of Hackney. Also, didn’t think much of Wharton in their last European game. They wouldn’t be looking at those 2 this summer.

I don’t think it’s any coincidence that Shaw, Maguire (for the most part), Casemiro staying relatively fit has coincided with playing 1 game a week. European football next season is gonna be a massive shock to the system. We all know we need at least 2x CM’s (3 if we can sell Ugarte) but CB is also a major concern (fitness of Lisandro, Maguire and de Ligt)
Apart from that, an attacking LB and out-and-out left winger are both needed. Really like the looks of Mane at Wolves

We absolutely need to sign two midfielders this summer. With Casemiro leaving and Ugarte likely moving on, we are light in midfield. As we seen from Mbeumo and Cunha, having players with PL experience is important. Many names are mentioned and my choices would be Anderson (though hes likely going to City) and Baleba (though his form dropped this season). I am not sure Tonali or Wharton are the type of midfielders we really need. Guimares and Sangare are good players but at 28 years old, I am not sure they fit the long term plan. I cant think of many other players we could realistically sign with PL experience who would immediately strengthen our midfield. Maybe extending Casemiro contract could be an option?
