Not exactly a summer signing but it looks like they’ve given Mainoo a new 5 year deal. 150k a week I read somewhere. Smart move because he’s young, an asset and highly rated. If he can get back to his form of two years ago great, but I’ve seen nothing in this so called resurgence under Carrick to make me think he will.

Can live with that if true. A couple of season ago he’d have got 300K a week and an 8 year deal. With Casemiro going and Ugarte needing shifting, makes sense to keep Mainoo even if just for squad depth. The kid has undoubted ability and has good moments in games but just don’t see how he fits in to a really top midfield 2 longer term.

There’s nothing to be said about Mainoo that hasn’t been said already; his talent was never in doubt it was his application, hunger and willingness to get dirty for the team that has been rightly questioned.
He turned up against Chelsea; will he do so for the remainder of the season and next season? Where was that version of Mainoo since January?

I’d have said the same 18 months ago SYDNEY, but he’s gone backwards for me. He used to look pretty quick, dynamic, had a piercing passing range and scored important goals, but now he looks heavy, slow and pretty much passes sideways. If he gets back to his form of 18 months ago great, I’m just not holding my breath mate.

Sydney if you do watch Mainoo play unbiased you would see and understand what the rest of us do see… no one doubts his talent but the way the talent is applied is the most important.. Mainoo plays next to the geriatric Casemiro and in no way should Casemiro be out working him defensively and making more forward passes than him meanwhile Casemiro is the DM.
Heck Pogba had all the talent but was a lazy cunt for us but worked his ass off for France..

I would have no issues with Tchouameni on loan with an option to buy. We probably will need 3 midfielders due to the number of games next season and if Ugarte leaves. Most likely won’t happen as Madrid will want the fee but then it’s a hard pass.

Tchouameni? For God’s sake NO. Don’t want an expensive Andersson with Mainoo either boring as fuck to see them play. Before Benfica bought Richard Rios last year I saw a clip of him and posted about him. Costs a fraction of Andersson. Hope the the reports are true we are linked with him. I saw the second half of Bayern Munich-Leverkusen last night and was impressed by Leverkusen’s 20 year old midfielder Ibrahim Maza. As usual Olise was outstanding, why the fuck were we not after him? Amad and Mbuemo looks useless compared to him.
