SDs have final say but the club will have targets through extensive scouting and work will have already started on these long back. They will also have a list of opportunities signings, as in they make a move if there’s a hint the player could leave.
Slot I doubt had much say last year. I can’t imagine he wanted Kerkez to then play him as an inverting defensive fullback to play out from the back. Thankfully he did change that as the season progressed.
Don’t forget who our SDs are, a lot of targets will have been data driven.
