Yeah Sean midfield just isnt set up right at all, has barely been since the start of the season. Really hope we have someone that can and will sit and protect the back 4 and fill that gaping chasm between midfield and defence, something VvD doesnt help by backing off so much. Not sure Wharton is the guy, good player that he is, but think he would be a MacAllister replacement rather than a DM. But as always at the moment, depends on who is in charge.
Quick match report! We started pretty poor, very slow with the ball. Glad Isak scored, get him firing on all cyclinders next season and he could be a great player, but still it depends on who is coach. 2nd goal was superb, reminded me of the Klopp era a litte, and Wirtz’s goal was lovely technique.
We deserved the win I think, not perfect but not bad. Think the top 5 is sorted now, just the order that is open, largely due to Chelsea’s form falling off a cliff. Most out ran team in the league apparently, with us 2nd I think!
Just seen the xG, 0.91 to 2.32 in Palace’s favour, Woodman did good!
