I just don’t think Slot had much particular say on who came in and who went out over summer. Why else would we change the manager’s title from “manager” to “head coach”? And bring Edwards back? So I do have some sympathy with Slot. I think the recruitment team had a pretty disastrous window. Someone like Semenyo would have had a greater impact than several of the summer signings all put together. And we watch him go to City as well as the defender we were also after. We got giddy with the money and are now paying the price.
