Not surprised Bahrain “passed”, they’re so deep in the Saudi pocket, they wouldn’t sneeze without permission (think Engerland and Canvey Island!).
As for the UAE, I could see Dubai possibly making a bid, although technically the same country, Abu Dhabi and Dubai and from two different regions (think counties) and actually have a rivalry like Yorkshire/Lancashire… with both regions doing their best to “out do” the other (hence all those stupid buildings/islands etc….).
That would actually work out quite well for Liverpool, because Dubai wouldn’t do it while planning to play second fiddle to Abu Dhabi, they would certianly want to at least be #1 dog in the UAE at least…
